Does Cryolipolysis Really Work for Fat Reduction?

Cryolipolysis is a treatment that originated after researchers fully understood what happens when humans get frostbite: fat cells freeze before skin freezes. Study has showed that cryolipolysis is effective in reducing fat.Currently, it is the best non-surgical, permanent spot treatment of fat reduction that is on the market right now.

The first cryolipolysis machine was approved in 2010.In every study done so far, cryolipolysis has been proven to be effective in producing about a 20-25% reduction in fat thickness per treatment.

Cryolipolysis works like frostbite; it freezes fat, leaving the overlying skin intact. A section of your skin is inserted into a freezing device for about an hour, resulting in the disappearance of some fat cells. cryolipolysis slimming machine works by applying the head of the Cryolipolysis device to the area in question. The extra skin and fat are then drawn into the head and between two cooling plates. This is accomplished by the application of suction. Once the fat and skin are between the two plates, the plates are compressed and then the temperature is dropped. The treatment time is normally one hour per area. At the end of that time, the device is removed and the area treated is massaged so that it can return back to its original contour. The freezing starts the death cycle for the fat treated. The fat that is going to be eliminated slowly dies and the byproducts are safely absorbed and excreted by the body.

cryolipolysis equipment is wonderful for removing upper/lower abdomen, flanks, love handles, hips, bra rolls, inner thighs, saddle bags, banana rolls (under the buttocks) and axillary bra fat for people at or near a healthy weight. For people interest in losing a significant amount of weight, Cryolipolysis is not the ideal procedure.

Results take from two to four months to appear and some people experience redness, mild pain and bruising for a few days afterward. You can generally expect a 20 percent fat reduction but this may take a number of treatments. To find out what this treatment can do for you, contact a board-certified plastic surgeon. You can expect roughly 20-25% permanent reduction in fat in the areas treated.

Cryolipolysis is a proven, effective treatment for fat reduction. Unfortunately, it has different outcomes for different people and different areas of the body. The ideal patient is near goal weight, physically fit, exercises, eats a healthy diet and still has stubborn areas that bother them. Patients with large amounts of fat or loose skin may need more aggressive procedures. In this group, liposuction or skin resections may be more appropriate.

If you are considering Cryolipolysis, it is very important to contrast the expected results of Cryolipolysis with other treatments such as liposuction. It may be that you would be a better candidate for liposuction than Cryolipolysis. The main advantages to Cryolipolysis are the facts that it is not invasive and there is no downtime. The Cryolipolysis typically will not have the results of liposuction. With liposuction, the fat in question is removed and it’s immediately apparent how much fat has been eliminated. With cryolipolysis system, the patient must wait up to four months to appreciate the final result.

Cryolipolysis is not a substitute for weight loss, larger volume liposuction or a tummy tuck and when used in these situations disappointment will likely follow.
