How Effective Is IPL Treatment?

IPL stands for Intense Pulse Light. It is a treatment that is designed to pull unwanted pigment such as sun damage out of the skin. It also does very well with vascular conditions of the skin.

Intense Pulsed Light combines light and heat energies to significantly improve complexion flaws and also to remove unwanted hair. Pulses of these ipl machine combined energies are applied to the skin by a hand-piece, delivering treatment at different depths within the skin with minimal discomfort and recovery time or restrictions.

Without getting into too much laser physics, lasers use one specific type of light and IPL devices use many. For this reason, IPL machines are marketed to be able to do a bit of everything, sun spots, facial redness, wrinkles and collagen stimulation.

The light energy delivered by ipl laser treatment gently heats the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to regenerate new collagen. This process will restore your skin to its natural beauty, blending its natural colors and making it smoother, more vibrant, and younger looking.

Depending on what to achieve, various targets preferentially absorb, are heated and are selectively destroyed by certain best ipl machine light wavelengths without damaging surrounding tissues. In this way, ACNE can be corrected, small blood vessels and flushing such as flushing can be rid of and sun spots and other pigmentation as well as hair removed.

The light treatment identifies the pigmentation or vascular lessions as unwanted color on the skins surface. The light is attracted to these areas and pulls the color to the surface. Immediately following the procedure the skin may look much worse.

Most people can return to work the same day. You may feel the need to wear a bit of makeup on the skin to cover the areas that appear to be dark. It may take anywhere from 2-5 ipl equipment treatments to achieve the clarity of the skin you desire. The only downside of this treatments is that you must stay out of the sun before, during and after the treatment if you want good results. You must be a fair skin type to have this procedure.

Typically, IPL treatments take about 20-30 minutes to perform depending on the area being treated. Signs of sun damage and age spots temporarily darken over the course of the next 7-10 days, darkened spots will fade and flake off and patients generally report full results in 2 weeks. Treatments are best performed every 3-4 weeks for 3-6 treatments with a maintenance treatment once every 6-12 months.

  1. During IPL Rejuvenation , you will experience a sting, like the snapping of a small rubber band on the skin, each time the IPL is applied.
